AWARDS

The daily work of research and experimentation of traditional Portuguese sweets recipes has borne fruit because it has been recognized by clients and friends, but also by judges of the various competitions in which Pastelaria Batalha has participated.

The prizes won in these competitions not only reward this work but also all the knowledge and experience that have been handed down over the years by the various generations of the family in the production of cakes and bread with high-quality traditional recipes.

The year 2016 was particularly great for us and difficult to match because we have won a total of 6 prizes. Gold Medal for the Sweet Beans Tart, 3rd Best Pastel de Nata in Lisbon, 2 Stars in Great Taste with Gluten-Free Sweet Beans Tart, Silver Medal for the Filhoses (traditional Christmas sweet) and Bronze Medal for the Rebanadas (also typical during Christmas).

Already in 2017, we could not start the year in a better way, the Day of Kings brought us a great gift, the conquest of the title – Best King Cake of Lisbon.

2018

Our Pastel de Nata, aka Portuguese Custard Tart, was preselected among the top 12, and after winning a place on the podium in the grand finale, ended up ranking 3rd for the second time at the Best Pastel de Nata Competition in Lisbon.

2016

Pastelaria Batalha’s Bolo Rei won the first place in the Wonderland Lisbon Competition, which took place on January 6, 2017. Bolo Rei is the most typical Christmas cake in Portugal and thus, this is a great honor for us!

Our Rabanadas won a Bronze Medal in the 1st Special Traditional Portuguese Christmas Cakes Competition organized by Qualifica in partnership with Cnema.

Our Filhós won a Silver Medal in the 1st Portuguese Traditional Christmas Special Cakes Competition organized by Qualifica in partnership with Cnema.

We won 2 stars for our Gluten-free Sweet Beans Tarts at the Great Taste Awards, organized by the Guild of Fine Food (UK). Since 1994, this is the great reference in the recognition of good food and drinks and has been described as the ‘Oscars’ of the world food.

After having won the Gold medal in the category of wheat bread, our Rustic Saloio Bread was considered the Best of the Best in the country at the National Competition of Traditional Portuguese Breads.
